✔ Structural unemployment: A person is considered structurally unemployed when the skills they have do not match that of the modern skills for a company’s development. The person is either laid off from the work to learn new and adaptive skills or leaves the company.
✔ Involuntary unemployment: Involuntary unemployment is just like the structural unemployment. A person is considered involuntarily unemployed when they are forced to leave their job because their skills do not match that of their position in the company.
✔ Frictional unemployment: This type of unemployment occurs when a person leaves their current job, become unemployed while searching for a new job.
✔ Underemployment: This kind of unemployment occurs when a person does not qualify for the work he’s looking for but receives small money for doing other optional things for the company.
✔ Voluntary unemployment: This occurs when a person voluntarily decides not to look for work or just decide to be home.
What To Do When You Are Unemployed In Ghana; Relieving Tips
1. Register your name at the labour commission
The first to think of when you are unemployed is to go and have your name registered at the national labour commission. At the labour commission, registered unemployed persons are considered when employment opportunities are available. In order to be a recognised unemployed person, you should have your name registered. You may be called, get emails and other forms of notification when jobs matching your criteria are available.
2. Be prepared
Always prepare yourself for employment before any employment opportunity comes. Create a well and irresistible CV, prepare your cover letters and learn interview skills.
