African Union Fellowship Details
The African Union Digital and Innovation Fellowship Program is a comprehensive 12-month endeavor designed to place adept tech innovators within various units and organs at the African Union headquarters. Referred to as ‘resident fellows,’ participants will immerse themselves in these units, identify data management challenges, and collaboratively devise innovative solutions tailored to these challenges.
Implemented through the BMZ Commission’s GIZ DataCipation program, this fellowship aligns with the African Union’s commitment to citizen engagement.
Requirements for African Union Digital Fellowship 2024
To be eligible for the African Union Digital Fellowship, candidates must:
– Be based in Africa and a national of an African Union member state.
– Be under the age of 34 at the time of application.
– Possess a tertiary education degree or equivalent qualification.
– Demonstrate the capacity to gather, evaluate, and analyze information to identify key issues and propose solutions.
– Exhibit experience and technical proficiency in designing innovative technology products/solutions.
– Commit to participating in an induction workshop and dedicating 12 months to the fellowship, including relocating to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
– Proficiency in more than one AU official language (Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swahili) is advantageous.
