What You Need to Gain Stanford University Knight-Hennessy Scholars Fellowship Program
To become a Knight-Hennessy Scholar, applicants must apply separately to their desired Stanford graduate degree program in addition to the Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program. The department’s admission decision is pivotal for selection. The program primarily looks for:

Eligibility For Stanford University Knight-Hennessy Scholars Fellowship Program

There are two baseline eligibility requirements:
1. Applicants must apply, be accepted by, and enroll in a full-time Stanford graduate degree program.
2. Applicants must have earned a U.S. bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognized institution, on or after January 2015.
For military veterans, the eligibility window extends by two years.

Application Process For Stanford University Knight-Hennessy Scholars Fellowship Program
The application for fall 2025 enrollment opens in June 1 2024. Comprehensive application requirements and information are available at Applying to Knight-Hennessy Scholars
Application components include:
– Online application
– Unofficial transcripts
– Standardized test scores (as per graduate program requirements)
– One-page resume/CV
– Two recommendation letters
– One essay
– Three short answer responses
Up to 500 applicants will be invited on a rolling basis in January to submit a required video. Finalists will attend an evaluative and informative Immersion Weekend at Stanford.
Applicants must also apply separately to their desired Stanford graduate degree program, meeting its deadlines and requirements.

Scholarship Dates And Deadline
The Knight-Hennessy Scholars (KHS) application to join the 2024 cohort is closed. The KHS application to join the 2025 cohort will open on June 1, 2024.
